Tis the Season

Well, Holiday shopping has begun in earnest already ( much sooner than I anticipated ), so I'll be working some overnights again to keep the toys flowing to our bargain hunting TRU customers.

We raked in almost $100,000 today ( take that people that think we're going out of business ) and people are already stressed that they can't find what they want.

This is going to be a very long Holiday season.

It was !! I don't ever remember people getting this much of a jump on shopping or being this stressed this early.

We're still ten days away from Black Friday and it seems like we're already there.

We definitely weren't prepared for today...we closed at 10 and were practically pushing people out the door...we were really under-staffed and didn't finish straightening up the store until almost 12:30 [img]graemlins/cry_smile.gif[/img]

Yeah, went to the mall tonight with the family to see a movie (The Incredibles fucking ROCKED by the way), and it was jam packed! It's crazy! I'm not ready for this Christmas stuff yet...

and to boot, on the way home, we saw like 4 houses already decked out with lights!

WAY too early for that if ya ask me... it really seems to be kicking in early this year... which could be a good sign for the economy, but SHIT....

Gamestop has been pretty much nonstop madness lately, due to big video game releases and the start of holiday shopping. I swear to god I'm about ready to rip some heads off. we've been selling out of ps2 and xbox systems so fast that what comes into the store is gone within hours. we haven't gotten in new ones in god knows how long..just trade-ins. people are getting frustrated cause no one has any systems to be found, so they take it out on the employees..like it's our fault that microsoft and sony are having problems making enough systems to meet the current demand.

We wandered into TRU on Saturday because we were in the area for something else, and the thing was packed out!! You'd have thought it was "black Friday" already.
